Council follows Planning Board lead and rejects FAR proposal

Following the recommendation of the Highland Park Planning Board, the Highland Park Borough Council members at its meeting on August 11, 2015, unanimously rejected a suggested zoning change that would have limited new construction on residential properties based on the ratio of floor area to the property size. The Planning Board on July 9 voted against the measure following strong opposition from residents.

HP Board of Ed votes to appoint Dr. Scott Taylor as superintendent

The Highland Park Board of Education at a special meeting on Wednesday night, Aug. 5, 2015, voted 5-4 to appoint Dr. Scott Taylor, a Highland Park resident, as the new district superintendent. Dr. Taylor, who is currently superintendent for Kenilworth Public Schools, received a four-year contract effective Oct. 1 and ending June 30, 2019.
