Daycare worker admits to one count of endangering the welfare of a child

One year after the tragedy of a nine-week old boy dying while in the care of employees at Highland Park-based Above and Beyond Child Care Center, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey announced that three former employees of Above and Beyond were placed on probationary terms. They were charged with failing to adequately care for the nine-week old child.

HP Board of Ed votes to appoint Dr. Scott Taylor as superintendent

The Highland Park Board of Education at a special meeting on Wednesday night, Aug. 5, 2015, voted 5-4 to appoint Dr. Scott Taylor, a Highland Park resident, as the new district superintendent. Dr. Taylor, who is currently superintendent for Kenilworth Public Schools, received a four-year contract effective Oct. 1 and ending June 30, 2019.

One incumbent and four newcomers file to run for three school board seats

The July 27 school board candidate petition deadline revealed five Highland Park residents will try for three open seats. Incumbent Claire Berkowitz chose to run again. School Board President Adam Sherman and Board member Catherine Bull will not be running. Ruth Beyer, Michael Greenberg, Robert Magaziner and Sharice Richardson are the other candidates. READ MORE
