Eliana Murillo, head of multicultural marketing at Google, Inc., will be the keynote speaker at the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s fifth annual Hispanic Business Expo, Tuesday, July 21, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Pines Manor, right over the Highland Park town border at 2085 Lincoln Highway in Edison, is the location for the event.
The Expo will attract an estimated 150 vendors and 1,000 attendees, according to Luis De La Hoz, a member of the Middlesex Chamber’s board of directors and chairperson of the Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council.
“This Expo will provide opportunities for both Hispanic and Non-Hispanic leaders to break into new markets, attract new clients, and foster influential partnerships,” he said.
Keynote speaker Murillo has emerged as an advocate for social change through technology and focuses on cross-product strategy to engage multicultural users and business owners.
Ms. Murillo founded the US Hispanic business development and community outreach team at Google, and has spearheaded programs that support diversity in entrepreneurship, education, and civic engagement with the use of technology. Her previous roles at Google include diversity business development, global sales people operations and regional Latin American human resources.
Prior to joining Google in 2010, Ms. Murillo worked at Target Corporation in the food merchandising division, where she handled internal buying strategies and supply chain optimization. She has been featured in Fast Company, Fortune, CNN Money, Latina Magazine, Latin Trends and American Latino Magazine.
