Winter heats up with a free jazz concert at the HP Library

Musicians from the Mason Gross School of the Arts/Rutgers University will be performing at the Highland Park Public Library, 31 North Fifth Avenue, throughout the year to introduce the talented faculty members and student performers to the community.

The first concert on Sunday, January 18, 2 p.m. will feature with the Mason Gross Extension Division Jazz Trio.  Tara Buzash on keyboard, William Macirowski on bass, and Dan Silverstein on drums are all Mason Gross students who will warm up a winter’s afternoon!  The second jazz concert will be performed by the Young Artist Program Trio on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m.

The Rutgers University Jazz Program, with its convenient mass transit proximity to the New York City jazz scene, offers many advantages including an all star faculty made up of some of the world’s best jazz musicians and educators, such as Ralph Bowen, Conrad Herwig, Victor Lewis, Vic Juris, Kenny Davis, Joe Magnarelli, Eddie Palmieri, Fred Hersch, and Bill O’Connell.
