Library hosts its annual book sale

For more than three decades, Highland Park Public Library’s biggest fundraiser has been the Friends of the Library Book Sale.

Thousands of books are donated by generous Highland Park residents and collected, sorted and sold by hard working Friends of the Library. Lois Farrah, who has been organizing the book sale and George Pedersen, the President of the Friends, lead a group of volunteers who are as diverse as the books that are donated. High school students, retirees, and residents from all corners of the borough support the book sale. The latest book sale for 2015 will be held Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Highland Park Public Library, 31 North Fifth Avenue.
