No end of summer doldrums for Highland Park residents, because the town thanks to Main Street Highland Park is hotter than ever with arts and entertainment activities. An unofficial survey of outside vendors in Central Jersey indicated high satisfaction for Highland Park’s farmer’s market and street fairs and said the activities are very well run and “more vibrant” and “creative” than those same activities in other New Jersey neighboring municipalities. And what is scheduled for September underscores those opinions.
This week at the market, the town celebrates the new school year and the beginning of Highland Park’s month of town wide art events!
The Highland Park Public Library will be back at the market this Friday! They are hosting an all ages back to school-themed craft of decorating canvas zipper pouches.
At 3pm, local musician Mr. Ray will perform his classic children’s music!
After the market on Friday, come join us at the annual Arts in the Park Street Fair, this Sunday, September 8!
🎨There will be hundreds of artists and crafters showcasing their work in downtown Highland Park, live performances by local musicians and actors, local food vendors, and more!
We will also have a Youth Art Show as part of the street fair, as well as a Kids Zone full of games, activities, and face paint!
Participants in the Youth Art Show can drop off their submissions at the Farmers Market this Friday at the Market Staff table under the pavilion.
And later this month, make sure to come downtown for the Window Art Show & Walk on Sunday, September 22.
Downtown businesses will display local artists’ work in their windows for this community tradition.
