Police seeking information regarding assault in Highland Park

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Richard Abrams of the Highland Park Police Department announced today that an investigation is underway for the assault of a woman in Highland Park.

On August 24, 2020 at approximately 9:10 p.m., the victim contacted Highland Park Police Department to report that she was assaulted in the area of Benner Street and Second Avenue a short time prior. The suspect shoved her to the ground and held her down before fleeing the area. The suspect is described as a black male, with black hair, approximately 6 feet tall, approximately 25 years of age, wearing a blue surgical mask and eyeglasses.

The investigation is active and continuing.
