In preparation for the upcoming June 4 Primary Election, a Highland Park Candidate Forum will be held on Thursday, May 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The forum is presented by The League of Women Voters of the Greater New Brunswick Area in association with the Highland Park High School Women’s Issues Club.
Participants will include Mayoral Candidates Gayle Brill Mittler and Monique Coleman as well as Borough Council Candidates Phil George, Matt Hale and Austin Morreale. The forum will be moderated by Dawn Clarke, member of the League of Women Voters Union Area chapter.
Incumbents Mayor Brill Mittler and Council members George and Hale are running on a record of strong accomplishments during the past few years they have been in office combined with an exciting and creative vision for the future. The platform emphasizes the vibrancy of the downtown and the redevelopment plans, the strong social justice and race relations programs, and the commitment to a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. The challengers are committed to transparent government, community inclusion, and equitable policies and practices. They pride themselves as advocates of educational opportunities for all and being the voice for minorities and socio-economic underserved.
The event will be held in the Highland Park High School Cafeteria, 102 North 5th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ.
