Police are investigating an alleged aggravated assault that occurred on Friday, December 7, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
According to a press release issued by the Highland Park Police Department, a female was walking on Woodbridge Avenue near the intersection of South Tenth Avenue when she was “thrown to the ground and physically assaulted.”
The woman, whose identity was withheld by police, sustained facial injuries and was treated at the scene by the Highland Park First Aid Squad. She was able to provide details of what the alleged assailant looked like and a sketch was developed with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police Composite Artist Unit. He is described as a black male, 16 to 20 years old, approximately 5’6″ or 5’7″ with a slim build and wearing a black puffy jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers or boots.
