The Police Blotter reports incidents occurring in Highland Park, as reported to HPP municipal editor David Learn by the Highland Park Police spokesperson Capt. Scott Golden.

Truck Fire

No one was injured but the cargo was lost in a Monday, May 11, tractor trailer fire on Cleveland Avenue. The driver, a Philadelphia man driving for FFE Transportation of Burlington, called 9-1-1 at 1:45 p.m. to report that the trailer component of his rig had caught fire. Police arrived moments later at Cleveland and Janeway avenues, and found black smoke coming from the vehicle. The Highland Park Fire Department also responded, and extinguished the fire, according to police reports. No one was injured in the fire, the cause of which remains unknown, police said. The driver told police he had checked the rig before taking it out on the road that morning, and never noticed anything amiss during the day. No charges have been filed.
