Inspired by the two dozen volunteers who helped stage the “amazing race” – the Highland Park 5k “Run in the Park” race on Sunday May 3, 2015, the Highland Park Planet would like to salute all of the town’s dedicated volunteers who add the element of humanity to the community every day. On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, the Borough officially honored several of the town’s volunteers who provide special services to the operations of municipal government.
Municipal Volunteer of the Year went to Rabbi Eliezer Kaminetzky, who has served as the Borough’s chaplain for more than 20 years. “By being volunteers, one is able to convey a sense of trust and dependability in a world that’s often full of turmoil,” said Rabbi Kaminetzky.
HPP once a month will be featuring a community volunteer, each of whom has a unique story to tell, but shares a common vision of helping others. Please email the Planet (phersh@highlandparkplanet.org) with your suggestions.
