Studio J actors perform “Only in America” only in Highland Park

Studio J Theater Arts, a theater program for students from seven to 17, invites the community to its inaugural performance, Only in America, on March 29, 5 p.m., at the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth, at 201 S. Third Ave., Highland Park.

Directed by Stacy Greenblatt, Only in America is based on the true story of a Jewish man from New York who moves to North Carolina in the 1950s to write and distribute a newspaper. He quickly befriends the townspeople and helps them integrate the schools. The play explores social justice, helping those in need, and forgiveness between people, all through great humor and wit.

. The program, sponsored by Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth in partnership with Congregation Neve Shalom and supported by a Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County grant, is a creative and educational vehicle for  for students to explore their Jewish heritage while pursuing their love of the dramatic arts. The Studio J actors hail from the greater Middlesex County area.
