Studio J Theater Arts, a theater program for students from seven to 17, invites the community to its inaugural performance, Only in America, on March 29, 5 p.m., at the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth, at 201 S. Third Ave., Highland Park.
Directed by Stacy Greenblatt, Only in America is based on the true story of a Jewish man from New York who moves to North Carolina in the 1950s to write and distribute a newspaper. He quickly befriends the townspeople and helps them integrate the schools. The play explores social justice, helping those in need, and forgiveness between people, all through great humor and wit.

The program, sponsored by Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth in partnership with Congregation Neve Shalom and supported by a Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County grant, is a creative and educational vehicle for for students to explore their Jewish heritage while pursuing their love of the dramatic arts. The Studio J actors hail from the greater Middlesex County area.
