The wave of water infrastructure problems continued last night with a water main break on Magnolia Street between 4th and 5th Avenues. The break occurred around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015; water was still flowing as of 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
Jose Gonzalez from the Highland Park Water Department, on the scene, was assessing the situation. “We haven’t lost pressure, so there is no boil water advisory,” Mr. Gonzalez said. “We hope to be able to repair the break without shutting down the water so as not to interrupt service or have a boil water advisory. But we won’t know for sure until we dig it up and look at it.”
