You don’t need to cross the bridge if you’re looking for a new taste — it’s right on Raritan Avenue. The Bridge Turkish & Mediterranean Grill, at 315 Raritan Avenue, opened Friday, Jan. 23. Specializing in Turkish ethnic cuisine, The Bridge fills a space left vacant by the departure of PJ’s Coffee in May, 2014. “Highland Park is really becoming known for having a really diverse, international assortment of cuisines,” said Rebecca Hersh, executive director of Main Street Highland Park. “We are very excited to add Turkish into the mix.” The Bridge Grill first opened in 2010 in Long Branch, where it was forced to shut down by Hurricane Sandy. At its new Highland Park location, the restaurant can seat 95 people.
Family owned and operated, The Bridge Grill is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, for lunch and dinner. The restaurant also offers catering services for personal and corporate events. “The later closing time is also an asset to the downtown – contributing to the town’s growing nightlife,” said Ms. Hersh.
