If you know a good idea when you see one, be sure to visit the Highland Park Senior/Youth Center on Sunday, Jan. 4..
Proposals for the Park Partners Community Grant Program will be on display from 4-5 p.m. at the center, 221 S. Sixth Ave. Grant categories fall into one of six categories: entertainment, arts, culture and diversity, safety, and universal access or health and wellness. One program in each category can receive a grant up to $2,000.
Residents can view the programs proposed by other community members, and vote for the ones that they believe deserve grant money to implement them.
This is the second year of the program. Beneficiaries in the program’s first year included the summer outdoor movie program and the food pantry, among others.
